Thick Braid Wide Brim

Inspired by the textured mats traditionally used to press olive oil, this rustic raffia hat is hand-stitched into a coil that gradually eases out to its final shape. The narrowish crown flares out into a relaxed, sun-sheltering brim evocative of beach hats of the ‘50s while the very tip of the hat features a sublet dimple reminiscent of an olive. The material is so textural that the hat needs no ornamentation.

About the Brand

In 1989, Lola Hats was established in a small storefront space in the East Village. The designer and founder, Lola Ehrilich, draws upon her bohemian upbringing for inspiration. She had little formal education when she was school age, married young, and traveled all over the world until landing in New York.
